John receiving plaque from GM Richard Adams

According to Ernie J. Zelinski’s book titled “The 237 Best Things Ever Said about Retirement” one of the definitions of “retirement is when you stop living at work and begin working at living”.

Well, working at living is just what John and Carla are planning to do. He and Carla have several things on their to-do list or is that a honey-do list?  We know Carla and the rest of John’s family are looking forward to having him available to them. Their gain is our loss here at the office.

Carla with John's to-do list

John has had a stellar career at Brazos, spanning thirty-three (33) years. WOW! What an achievement.  It was mentioned in our farewell breakfast this morning that John never made a mistake and he could be counted on for fast and accurate information.  I could go on to compliment John, but those who have worked with him know his efficiency and expertise are admirable.

We understand John will be around the area working on his farm, enjoying his golden years and spending his children’s inheritance.  John we wish you the best, enjoy your rest and relaxation.  It is well deserved.
