It has come to our attention a new text message phishing scam is circulating in the area. The text message is pretending to be a representative from a wireless provider notifying you that your “payment is declined and your iPhone 11 will be returned”. The scam is designed to get you to click on the link; which then redirects you to what appears to be a survey offering a unique gift opportunity of an iPhone 11 from your Internet provider. These text messages have no connection to Brazos.
If you receive a text message of this nature, please do not click on any links provided in the message. Like many phishing scams those behind this only want to collect your information and commit fraud. If they are able to collect enough information they just might be able to steal your identity.
